APPOINTMENT

Dr. Stacey Hicks, Medical Director

Dr. Stacey Hicks is originally from Huntington, West Virginia. She attended Marshall University, where she received a bachelors degree in Biomedical Sciences & a minor in Chemistry. Dr. Hicks then obtained her DVM degree from The Ohio State University, and has been practicing medicine in the Baltimore area ever since. Her professional interests include small animal dentistry, behavior & client education.

Cindy, Administrative Assistant & Client Service Representative

Cindy joined the team in 2018 and is a graduate of the Vet Tech Institute. She has several years of experience with shelter medicine and volunteers with rescue organizations. She lives with and adores her cats, one of which has cerebellar hyperplasia.

Kayris, Technician

Kayris has been a veterinary technician since 1997 and joined the team at Boston Street Animal Hospital in 2011. She has worked at both large and small practices and also spent two and a half years doing research on aging at NIH. She holds a bachelors degree in Molecular Biology from UMBC. As a long time resident of Canton, Kayris loves seeing patients and clients around the neighborhood! She lives with her kids and three extraordinarily unruly cats, Ollie, Millie, and Taco. When she’s not working, she enjoys weight lifting, gardening, and watching soccer and rugby.

Dr. Ashley Cohen, Veterinarian

Dr. Cohen is originally from Philadelphia. She attended Penn State University, where she graduated with a bachelors degree in Animal Bioscience in 2009. She went to veterinary school at the University of Pennsylvania and graduated with her VMD degree in 2016. Dr. Cohen completed a one year rotating internship at VCA Shoreline in Connecticut before moving to Baltimore. When she isn’t working, she likes to spend time with her dog Winston, cat Lennon, and rabbit Elvis.

Leah, Technician

Leah joined the team at BSAH in 2018. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland School of Nursing and has been working as a veterinary technician for almost 20 years. She is married to her high school sweetheart has a 15-year-old son, Gavin, who is her pride and joy. She has a Rottweiler named Nitis, a beagle mix named Kaden, and cats Simba, Bullseye, Ellie, Keanie, Sapphire, Destiny, and Midge. Leah enjoys watching her son play football and, of course, the Ravens. She loves dolphins and enjoys boating, the beach, and going to the driving range.

Madison, Chief Love and Affection Officer, Mascot

Madison started her life as a stray on the streets of Baltimore City and came to BSAH as a timid kitten. She is currently in charge of love and affection. Madison can usually be found hanging out in reception or the pharmacy, where she likes to roll over for belly rubs, knock over coffee, and sit on important papers.

Dr. Katrina Utz, Veterinarian

Dr. Utz is a graduate of Western University in California, but she’s originally from New England, and is happy to be back on the East Coast. She and her husband welcomed a baby boy last fall. They live in Baltimore, along with many houseplants and two dogs, Tim and Cal.

Leticia, Client Service Representative

Leticia joined the team in 2018 and bringing over 10 years of service experience to assist the hospital team and pet parents.  In addition to being the mother of 2, she has 4 furry children all of which are rescues.

Shadirah, Assistant

Shadirah has been with the team since December 2018. Originally from Bronx, New York, she moved to Baltimore after obtaining her Bachelors in Animal Science from Cornell University. She loves learning about Veterinary Medicine and hopes to become a wildlife veterinarian some day. In her spare time, she volunteers at an animal shelter or enjoys binge-watching Netflix with her housemate’s pups Delilah and Brooks.

Rambo, Chief Rodent Control Officer, Mascot

Rambo came to Boston Street Animal Hospital after being rescued. He currently serves as Chief Rodent Control Officer. Rambo enjoys eating, sleeping and lounging on the reception desk. Dislikes include dieting, being brushed and anything involving exercise.
