Dr. Gregory Burbelo
Dr. Gregory Burbelo is the owner of Boston Street Animal Hospital. A native of Philadelphia, Dr. Burbelo received his undergraduate degree in Biology from The Pennsylvania State University. He was awarded his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University in 1989.
From a young age, Dr. Burbelo wanted to be a veterinarian. His love of animals, desire to help others, and passion for science and medicine lead him to veterinary medicine and enjoys nothing more than helping animals lead healthy, happy lives together.
He is interested in alternative treatments and he is pleased to offer holistic treatment options at the practice. In addition to holistic and alternative treatments, Dr. Burbelo is experienced with emergency, critical care treatments and general treatments.
Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Burbelo spends his time with his wife, Joanne and his two children, Justin and Isabella. Dr. Burbelo enjoys many outdoor activities such as gardening, landscaping, hiking and fly fishing.
Dr. Scott Willens
Dr. Scott Willens is originally from New Jersey. He received his Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from Rutgers University in 1992 and his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from University of Minnesota in 1996. After two years of small animal and exotic pet practice, Dr. Willens completed a one-year veterinary internship at Mystic Aquarium and Institute for Exploration in Mystic, Connecticut, followed by a Ph.D. in Comparative Biomedical Sciences (Pharmacology) at North Carolina State University in 2005.
Dr. Willens is a also Major in the United States Army Veterinary Corps who joined immediately after September 11, 2001. He deployed in 2007 for Operation Iraqi Freedom on an embedded provincial reconstruction team, and he is currently stationed at Fort Detrick.
Areas of expertise include pharmacology, toxicology, and exotic and aquatic species. He has published several veterinary medical journal articles and book chapters and is studying for the American College of Zoological Medicine board examination. Dr. Willens spends his free time with his wife and three children and is lead vocals for the band "Til September". He also enjoys downhill skiing, volleyball, and classical piano.
Michelle Danna-Christian, DVM
Dr. Danna is originally from Baltimore, Maryland. She graduated from Sparrows Point High School as valedictorian in 1990. She attended CCBC Essex for two years, transferring to UMCP and was accepted a year early into VA-MD Regional College of Veterinary Medicine (VA Tech), graduating in 1997.
Dr. Danna was an associate veterinarian in Virginia for six years and Florida for nine years. She started a relief veterinary service six years ago in Florida, offering services around the state to many veterinary hospitals. Dr. Danna recently moved back to Maryland, continuing to offer relief service to surrounding veterinarians.
Last year, Dr. Danna was honored with an induction into the Sparrows Point Alumni Hall of Fame on January 7, 2011 for her achievements as a doctor in veterinary medicine.
Dr. Danna is interested in alternative veterinary treatments and will continue to offer conventional and alternative options to clients seeking integrative holistic veterinary care.
Dr. Danna is also a full time mother, who loves to spend time on the water fishing and boating with her husband, Sean, and her two children, Michael and Cole.
