Hospital Staff
Veterinary technician Renee Mason joined the Boston Street Animal Hospital staff in 2009. Working with Dr. Burbelo and the caring staff at the hospital has been very rewarding, and she loves working with clients and their pets. Renee is currently part time and as of September 2011, owns Pooches and Purrs, a local daycare, boarding and grooming facility in Baltimore. Renee shares her home with two dogs, Ozzy and Lexi, and two cats, Cuddles and Patches. In her spare time, she loves to go to the beach with her family and Ozzy.
Amanda Serafini has been working at Boston Street Animal Hospital since June 2010. She is no stranger to working with animals though, and has worked at both animal hospitals and an animal shelter since 2004. Amanda completed the vet tech program at Essex Community College and obtained her license in June 2011. She is currently employed full time at the Baltimore County Humane Society and works part time at the Boston Sttreet Animal Hospital. Her areas of interest include Animal Behavior and Shelter Medicine. She has one dog, a Poodle mix named Dobby, that she adopted from the Baltimore Humane Society.
In her spare time, Amanda enjoys running, playing with Dobby, and volunteering with the Humane Society.
Kayris Wall has been a veterinary technician since 1997 and joined the team at Boston Street Animal Hospital in 2011. She has worked at both large and small practices and also spent two and a half years doing research on aging at NIH. She is especially interested in the role of good nutrition in maintaining healthy pets. As a long time resident of Canton, Kayris is excited to be working in the community. She lives with her husband, two kids and Jameson, the world‘s grouchiest cat. When she‘s not working, doing laundry, packing lunches or supervising homework, she enjoys jogging, cooking, gardening, and reading.
Donna Williams has worked in the Veterinary field for over 12 years and brings lots of experience helping people with their pets. Helping clients and their pets have the best Veterinary experience is what Donna finds personally rewarding and satisfying. Her family of pets includes three dogs and one spoiled cat. Time off is spent with her husband and two boys, enjoying bike rides and trips to the beach. Football is a popular pastime for her family. Donna's husband and kids root for the Ravens, but she continues to be a diehard Steelers fan!
Kristel Megen began working at the Boston Street Animal Hospital in May 2011. She gained 9 years of experience as a veterinary assistant and receptionist before moving to Baltimore from Orlando, Florida in May 2011. She has a degree in Biology from the University of Central Florida and is currently attending nursing school. She lives in Mount Vernon with her husband and her Labrador Retriever mix named Sadie. In her free time, she enjoys getting to know her new neighborhood, reading, and taking Sadie out to explore the local parks.
Lee Wasserman
has been with Boston Street Animal Hospital since July 2011. He has worked as a veterinary technician for 13 years, at both emergency and general practice veterinary hospitals, and brings a variety of skills and experiences to the team at Boston Street. Lee enjoys working on his Jeep and rock climbing and lives in Reisterstown with his lab mix, Seamus and his cat, Kramer.
Madison started her life as a stray on the streets of Baltimore City. She was rescued by Dr. Burbelo as a kitten and came to live at Boston Street Animal Hospital, where she is currently in charge of love and affection. She spends most of her days lounging on the counter in the pharmacy, where she loves to sit on important papers, knock over coffee and roll over for belly rubs.
Rambo came to Boston Street Animal Hospital as a kitten in 2009. He now serves as Chief Rodent Control Officer and loves his job so much, he never leaves. In his spare time, Rambo likes to eat, sleep on the reception desk and growl when people touch his tail. Dislikes include dieting, being brushed and anything involving exercise.
